Sarens SGC-250 work at the Hinkley Point C nuclear power station
เมื่อวานนี้ มีการโชว์ตัวครั้งแรกของเครน SGC-250 ชื่อเล่นว่า "Big Carl" จากบริษัท Saren มีกำลัง 5000 ตัน ที่รัศมี 40 ม เค้าเคลมว่าเป็น World’s largest crane จริงๆ ต้องเติมคำว่า "Land Based" เข้าไปด้วย เพราะใหญ่สุดแค่บนฝั่ง ถ้าใหญ่สุดในโลกตอนนี้ต้องยกให้เรือเครน Sleipnir ที่แขนเดียวก็หมื่นตันแล้ว
สำหรับเครนบนฝั่ง มันยังมีอีกตัวคือ ALE SLK350 ที่กำลังยก 5000 ตัน ใกล้เคียงกัน เค้่าเคลมว่ารับได้ 345000 ตัน-ม ถ้ายก 5000 ตัน ก็รัศมี 70ม ดูแล้วใหญ่กว่าตัวในรูป ไม่แน่ใจว่าว่าตัวในรูปใหญ่กว่ากันตรงไหน ถึงเคลมว่าใหญ่กว่า
ตอนนี้ ALE กำลังพัฒนาเครนอีกตัวคือ SK10000 กำลังยก 10000 ตัน ซึ่งจะออกมาในตลาดปีหน้า ตัวนี้น่าจะทำลายทุกสถิติของการยกบนฝั่ง
