What matters most in your life?

As an ENFP personality type, I love talking to people from various fields of work and different countries.
I find that age and life experience are 2 most important factors in their perspectives on life.
For first jobbers, they have goals to progress in their professional lives.
For people between 30 - 40 years old, achieving higher status, being successful in their own businesses, or getting married are the things that matter to them.
As you are getting older and reach my age (40 - 50 years old), I find that there are 2 main different types of thinking.
Some of people my age are still worried about their status in the society and the amount of money they have; while the others are more concerned about their health and well-being.
The causes of this may vary. Some people are caught up amongst friends who focus on money and social status; while, some people including me have seen how suffer a lot of my friends in their 40s and my parents’ friends in their old age with the diseases that they can prevent sooner.
According to WHO (World Health Organization), in 2019 Thai people consume sugar in food and drink 4 times higher than recommended by the WHO. Now we are ranking the second place in ASEAN (behind Malaysia) in the prevalence of obesity, which can lead to other chronic diseases such as cancer, heart disease, and diabetes.
You can see below the link between obesity and other serious illnesses:

These chronic diseases can absolutely be prevented if you take control of your lives. Watch what you eat and make exercising your daily habits.
I believe we should be more present. You should know your body, love yourself enough and have more focus and discipline in your own lifestyle.

My beloved grandmother passed away in her late 80s when I was 12 years old. Before she passed away, we were very close. Since she was a famous chef in her time, she always taught me that “Food is medicine” and “You are what you eat.” I used to see her providing us with well-balanced meals everyday and she exercised everyday too.
When I get older, her teachings have become more real. When you suffer in the hospital’s bed, no amount of money can make you feel better. So, be more present like the teaching from the Buddha and you will realize what truly matters.
