The less time you think, the faster you act because the brain basically doesn't like any changes or spend energy to do things, so start doing good thing is painful. 2. Add new mindset: Only focus on your efforts to things you can change.
Proactive people focus on their effort to what they can make a change, such as, focus on work in hands, get daily improvement, arrange time to watch series and read books. These are the things you can "control" in order to make you a good handler of all situations in the future.
Different to normal person, they focus on external factors that are uncontrollable or impossible to change, then, send negative energy to complain everything, like, blame their colleagues, blame the environments, blame their work except blaming themselves. Eventually, they don't know that they are under controlled completely to negative situation and really difficult to get any improvements
3. Add new mindset: "Driven by value"
Proactive people are driven by values, where reactive people are driven by feelings.
It doesn't matter that external factors cause you pain, but, it matters how you respond to these experiences.
Firstly, you should understand what is "value of your life", for example, have enough money, have enough time to explore new experience, proud of work and yourself, being funny, get to take care of family and parents. When you realize your own value, it's easy to respond the situation with your unique value and be proud of decisions you made.
4. Stick to the commitment
The common basic of being proactive is the ability to stick to the commitments you make to yourself and others. Please remember that "Keep your words, Show your actual results will make a man of honest" and dramatically improve your reliability.
In work, you shouldn't downgrade yourself by promising to help on work and then failing to get works done. You better find ways to refuse or negotiate in order to maintain your work success.
Useful technique that helps you stick to commitment is to setup a little goal to easily achieve (impossible to fail), like, wake up the same time, get to work 5 minutes earlier, read 1 page of book, then gradually collect success in order to increase your integrity. You'll see when you have self-respect, others will also respect you as an integrity as well.
