It's not quite a movie of Ma aka Mother of the Blues as named. It's a story of colored American who still inferior in 30s. White always takes advantage from colored in every time not only music industry.
Though Ma tried hard to fight her whole life in Blues music but white control the game.
There's a lot of dialogue, myths and arguments between colored musicians.
Chadwick Boseman stole many scenes to show his talent. However it's not good enough to win 92nd Oscar in Best Actor. Even his death begged for sympathy.
