ประเทศไทยเป็นที่ยอมรับมานานแล้วว่าเป็นหนึ่งในประเทศผู้ผลิตและส่งออกยานยนต์รายใหญ่ที่สุดของโลก สามารถผลิตตั้งแต่รถยนต์ขนาดเล็กไปจนถึงรถบรรทุกขนาดใหญ่ สามารถดึงดูดผู้ผลิตรถยนต์ระดับโลกจำนวนมากให้ตั้งโรงงานผลิตในประเทศ แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม นอกจากบริษัทระดับโลกหลายแห่งแล้ว ประเทศไทยยังมีบริษัทผู้ผลิตยานยนต์สัญชาติไทยที่พยายามแข่งขันกับคู่แข่งระดับโลกทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศอีกด้วย ตัวอย่างเช่น 4 แบรนด์ต่อไปนี้
• MINE mobility แบรนด์ยานยนต์ของบริษัท พลังงาน บริสุทธิ์ มุ่งมั่นที่จะออกแบบ และสร้างแบรนด์ยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าของไทย ทั้งรถยนต์ รถโดยสาร และเรือโดยสารไฟฟ้า นอกจากนี้บริษัทยังเป็นผู้ผลิตชิ้นส่วนประกอบยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าที่สำคัญ เช่น แบตเตอรี่ และระบบควบคุม
• GPX ผู้ผลิตรถจักรยานยนต์และสกู๊ตเตอร์สัญชาติไทยที่เติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว และส่งออกผลิตภัณฑ์ไปยัง 10 ประเทศทั่วโลก โดยผลิตภัณฑ์ล่าสุด GPX drone 150 ได้รับยอดคำสั่งซื้อเกือบ 10,000 คันภายในครึ่งเดือน สามารถทำลายสถิติก่อนหน้านี้ของ Honda ได้
• Sakun C แบรนด์ยานยนต์ของ "โชคนำชัย" ซัพพลายเออร์ OEM ที่มีชื่อเสียง บริษัทตั้งเป้าที่จะเป็นผู้ผลิตยานยนต์แห่งชาติของประเทศไทย ผลิตภัณฑ์แรก คือ C-bus เป็นคู่แข่งโดยตรงกับรถตู้โดยสารของโตโยต้า นอกจากนี้บริษัทยังวางแผนที่จะเปิดตัวผลิตภัณฑ์ต่าง ๆ ตั้งแต่เรือเร็วไปจนถึงรถไฟโดยสาร
• NEX บริษัทยานยนต์เพื่อการพาณิชย์ที่ตั้งเป้าจะผลิตยานยนต์ไฟฟ้าเพื่อปล่อยมลพิษเป็นศูนย์ โดยเริ่มจากรถบัส มินิบัส และรถบรรทุกหัวลากไฟฟ้า โดยร่วมมือกับ บริษัท พลังงานบริสุทธิ์ มีโรงงานแห่งใหม่ตั้งอยู่ใกล้กับโรงงาน Minemobility สามารถผลิตรถบัสได้เกือบ 6,000 คันต่อปี

It's long been ackowledge that Thailand is one of the world's largest maker and exporter of automoble ranging from small compact vehicle to heavy trucks as it attracting many global automaker to set up manufacturing plant in the country. However aside from many global companies Thailand also home to a growing list of domestic automakers trying to compete with its global competitor in the home market and abroad here are some of them that currently have a chance to receive 'National' automotive brand status
Minemobility; an automotive brand of Energy Absolute PCL aim to create first ever Thai design and built EV brand such as car, bus and boat. The company also made key EV components inhouse such as battery and control systems.
GPX ; a fast growing Thai motorcycle and scooter manufacturer and exports products to 10 countries around the world. It's latest product GPX drone 150 has receive nearly 10,000 unit order within half a month, breaking every previous record made by Honda.
SakunC; an automotive brand of the well known OEM supplier 'Choknamchai' the company aim to become Thailand's national vehicle manufacturer, its first product 'C-bus' is a direct competitor to Toyota coaster passenger van. The company also planning launch several products line up from speed boat to passenger train.
NEX; a company aim to produce zero emission commercial vehicle starting with EV bus, minibus and truck, in partnership with energy absolute PCL. The new plant is located near minemobility plant and able to produce nearly 6,000 buses per year.
