The farmer's protest in #Bangkok has mostly ended after the govt finally promised in an MOU to meet the demands of the protesters after more than two months on the streets, weathering the summer rain and the scourging sun.
While the sit-in made huge waves on parts of Twitter, online media, and garnered support from various pro-democracy protest groups, their story is of decades of struggle against the state, corporate lobby, and local merchants which have put tens of thousands of farmers in debt and at risk of losing their homes to banks.
Today they've won the battle and will find their issues partly alleviated soon (hopefully), but the war seems to be far from over with the junta still in power and Thailand still largely pandemic stricken. #ม็อบชาวนา #WhatsHappeninginThailand
