𝑅𝑒𝑓𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑐𝑒: Food Safety and Standards (Packaging and Labelling) Regulations, 2011; Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
🥦🍗 As you know that most of Indians are vegetarian. Some of my Indian friends are very strict to their dietary practice, so they prefer having food at pure vegetarian restaurant, as they want to make sure about the ingredients.
Therefore, Indian government has announced Food Safety and Standards Regulations related to packaging and labelling in order to declare about the food regarding Veg or Non vegetarian ingredient.
Every package of vegetarian food shall bear a declaration of vegetarian food by showing a symbol of a green color filled circle in a square with green outline 🟢, while a declaration of non vegetarian food will be in brown color 🟤 (you may also find red color on many packages 🔴)
📌‼️ However, Indian vegetarian dietary practice is different from Thai vegetarian practice, and also different from J-Chinese Vegetarian practice which is very popular in among Thais, too.
Let’s talk about the difference of those three dietary practice on the next post 😁
