A new era in technology and the Internet, which may be the largest change that humanity has ever seen. One day you are using old technology (paper, fax, phone and pen), and the next day you might be flying to Mars.
How would your life be like if in a few years all smartphones get replaced by a tiny device that sits in your eye that will be controlled by a pair of tiny glasses that will talk to our brains, giving us 3D vision at a distance? What if in 20 years we all go on a voyage to Mars or another place in the galaxy?
What if there are 100 years from now people are still using pen and paper? What if the pen was being replaced by a pen that was being controlled with a finger that could write text and draw pictures in the air? How about the next 20 years is when technology changes the way we live our daily life?
What is the most disruptive technology of the last 10 years? The answer is very simple: it’s the Internet. From the time that the first web browsers appeared (1995), the Internet revolutionized every industry that had to do with the exchange of data: online stores, media and entertainment, healthcare, banking, government and communication, in addition to the growth of the Web itself.
It also changed the way we think about technology. No longer are we confined to thinking of the latest gadgets or the newest smartphones. Instead we have started to look at technology as an enabler for everything else, and the role of smartphones, tablets and other computers has increasingly reduced to simple storage and processing devices.
