Talk about a world-famous one of the oldest Thai universities, this name, whether in the country or abroad, must be familiar with Kasetsart University. The university has a
reputation for a green environment, suitable for many academic activities such as study, research, mobility of exchange student/staff, study visit, and so on. Do you know what
Kasetsart University was like in the past?
Kasetsart was founded as a primary teacher training school in 1917, which was the
beginning of agricultural education in Thailand for 105 years. The object of the founding
was to educate students for agricultural science integrated with other sciences. Due to the
shortage of teachers to teach agriculture subjects. Therefore, the Minister of Agriculture and
one of the founders jointly considered setting up a teacher training school to teach
agriculture in particular.
The first place of the school was in the area that is now
Supachalasai National Stadium. Later, the school was relocated to many locations in many
provinces. At present, the school was established as Kasetsart University in Bang Khen
District of Bangkok, close to international airports, for almost 80 years.
From the beginning, Kasetsart University has been developed into 3 more campuses, and 1 Campus Establishment Project. Each of them has different strengths, namely:
• Kasetklang Bangkhen The main campus of KU promotes advanced research in various fields
of study, offers most international full degree programs and supports academic mobility.
• Kamphaeng Saen Campus promotes advanced research, particularly in agriculture, and
offers full degree programs and other educational opportunities, focusing on the
educational needs of the western region of Thailand. • Chalermphrakiat Sakon Nakhon
Province Campus integrates a base of knowledge derived from science, agricultural science,
technology, management science, and health, in order to serve the educational and social
needs of the northeast region of Thailand.
• Sriracha Campus offers a wide-range of
educational programs that contribute uniquely to the economic development in the eastern
region of Thailand. • The Suphan Buri Campus Establishment Project offers a field of study
to improve the economy and personnel in the central area.
From 1943, Kasetsart University has stepped forward into the 80th anniversary of its establishment as Thailand's first agricultural university, until it is a research university that is recognized all over the world today.
By providing higher education, international
research, and international academic exchange, this is a great step forward into the ninth
decade that plays an important role in educating students. And create innovations for sustainable development of the country.
Kasetsart University is an important force in
building human resources for the country. It is recognized internationally around the world
as an important source for the pursuit of knowledge and education at a worldclass
international standard. It is recognized by people around the world and has been ranked as
the best agricultural university in the country by many ranking agencies such as: QS World
University Rankings, THE Impact Rankings, UI Green Metric Rankings, and Webometrics etc
