วันที่ 24 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2502 เป็นวันก่อตั้งการบินไทย ซึ่งสายการบินแห่งชาติของประเทศไทย โดยเกิดจากการทำสัญญาร่วมทุนระหว่างบริษัท เดินอากาศไทย จำกัด กับสายการบินสแกนดิเนเวียน แอร์ไลน์ ซิสเต็ม ปัจจุบันการบินไทยเป็นบริษัทรัฐวิสาหกิจภายใต้กระทรวงคมนาคม ดำเนินการด้านการบินพาณิชย์ทั้งในและต่างประเทศในฐานะสายการบินแห่งชาติ และการบินไทยยังเป็นหนึ่งในสมาชิกผู้ก่อตั้งเครือข่ายสตาร์อัลไลแอนซ์อีกด้วย
[Revisiting History]
August 24th, 1959 is the founding date of Thai Airways International, Thailand’s national airline. By entering into a joint venture agreement between Thai Airways Company Limited and Scandinavian Airlines System. Currently, Thai Airways is a state owned enterprise under the Ministry of Transport operates in the field of domestic and international commercial aviation as a national airline. Thai Airways is one of the founding members of the Star Alliance network.
