“iCassava” application to help grow cassava:
Bringing Thai Agriculture to the 4.0 Era
Kasetsart University aims to create knowledge for Thai farmers through iCassava, an app that is like a hub of agricultural knowledge, which started from Thai economic crops such as “cassava”.
iCassava has been developed by Asst. Prof. Dr. Piya Kittipadakul, Lecturer, the Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, Kasetsart University. He understood the problem of cassava farmers who were still lack of knowledge and understanding of cassava cultivation.
Therefore, he has developed and passed on agricultural knowledge through the app “iCassava”, a platform to help the farmers to gain the knowledge and skill development in both cultivation, and plotting management, and cope up with problems properly, including exchanging experiences among the app’s members. The iCassave app contains 6 main functions as follows:
Method of variety identification
Planting area record, number of plots, and create a planting calendar
Disaster alert to farmer members such as the occurrence of a strange disease or insect pests of cassava
