The Water Tower (Vodni stolp), Maribor : Slovenia.
In 1555, the inhabitants of Maribor built it on the banks of Drava River to protect them from Turkish invaders. When the dam in Mejle was being built in 1968, the tower was almost flooded on account of the rising surface of the water. Although, there was a plan for demolition, however local residents managed to save such an important historical site.
