Baidu to Launch ChatGPT Rival Bot, Google Is Panicking!
Baidu is reportedly developing a ChatGPT-like bot. It seems that the success of ChatGPT made OpenAI not only shook Silicon Valley but also the Chinese search giant.
For those who don't know, ChatGPT is a conversation robot (chatbot) developed by OpenAI using artificial intelligence (AI) technology. In a matter of days, the intelligence of this chatbot managed to attract millions of users in all parts of the world.
This success may have inspired Baidu to make a clone of it. According to a Reuters report, Baidu plans to launch an AI chatbot similar to the system made by OpenAI in March 2023.
Bloomberg reported Baidu plans to embed its chatbot system in its search service first.
Currently, a number of the world's technology giants are being made dizzy by the presence of ChatGPT and make them compete to create programs similar to ChatGPT so that they are not less competitive.
Even Google is currently trying to challenge ChatGPT. CEO Sundar Pichai had to enlist the help of Google's two founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin to strategize for Google to compete with ChatGPT.
Microsoft recently announced it will extend the partnership and make a multi-year AI (artificial intelligence) investment at a cost of billions of dollars to OpenAI.
Starting in 2019, Microsoft invested $1 billion in the company OpenAI. The creator of the popular image-generating AI, Dall-E, and the recently discussed chatbot ChatGPT, the company was founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman.
Page and Brin's return to Google is quite remarkable because Page has rarely managed Google since he left as CEO in 2015.
The New York Times reported Pichai was confused about facing ChatGPT. He thinks the system can work better than Google Search. Page and Brin are also reported to have met and held meetings with Google officials to develop a plan and approve the integration of the chatbot feature with Search.
