Academic Scientism (1890-1916)
The academic period was the result of educational theorist who wanted to use their newly developed scientific knowledge to make decisions about mission of the school and the content of the curriculum.
In this curriculum, science is the foundation of all subjects because science provides intellectual support for rational and a mean for improving school.
Curriculum is heavily influenced by the belief that problems can be solved through knowledge and traditional scientific processes. An emphasis on scientific research informing education dominated in this era.
