Hello Governor of Surin Province and everyone.
Today is a good day, "Chakri Day". It is the anniversary of the first reign of the Chakri Dynasty and is the month of the sun's movement across the year or the Thai New Year's Day. 6 th Spril, 2024
The elephant raising community therefore saw fit to organize the 1st World Elephant Songkran as a tradition due to the ability of this temple to integrate the ancient "Pakam religion" with Buddhism perfectly. It is an interesting point (1).
Many activities are dedicated to keeping the elephants happy and enjoying playing in the water and spraying water. Mahouts will have another year of realizing your seniority and awareness of preserving elephants as a world heritage site 30 elephant mahouts from all over the country have appeared here. It awakened me to the fact that the ancient knowledge of the elephant sciences was
carefully preserved in the body and mind of Guru mahouts. As if to remind the community that living together in peace must have local scholars as an important element. This is the interesting point (2).
Preserving and revitalizing the traditional ethnic groups of Surin Province in a concrete way. There is even a folk dance of three tribes that reflects peace...in line with UNESCO policy. This is the interesting point (3).
Using the "Bowon" mechanism
(houses - temples - government agencies) following the royal initiative of the Thai King Rama IX, with the temple as the center to collect and direct rituals and traditions continuously until there is unity and peace until it is the number 1 moral village in Thailand. This is the interesting point (4).
The Governor of Surin Province and heads of government agencies initiated the annual wild elephant corralling show since 1962. Now it has been 62 years, long enough to cultivate it as an untouchable and empirical cultural heritage for the people of Surin and the world. This is the interesting point (5).
549 Surin elephants, equivalent to Surin province having an increase in population of 300,000 people, but the elephants must live in a different system. Which both members of the House of Representatives 8 persons,
any other local politicians, the monks of every temple and the heads of government agencies in the entire province, including public and private sector organizations, must work many times more than in other provinces. This is the interesting point (6).
Even though the elephant's performance can attract people all over the world to come and watch for just 1-2 days, the ingenuity of the Surin people has been found in using their cultural heritage or soft power to attract artists around the world to exchange knowledge and jointly develop folklore internationally.
The activities of the Foundation of Cultural Heritage Promotion of Surin have been established for 27 years and work to support both the economy , education and Thailand's culture are strong. This is an interesting point (7).
These 7 interesting facts are of interest to all countries around the world. I am in the name of Hungary. We are pleased to partner with the human and elephant communities of the Lam Chi Mun Basin. Thank you to the members of the Surin Provincial House of Representatives, Governor of Surin Province, Heads of government agencies, barons, local scholars and the elephant herder community that gives a warm welcome.
