รศ.ดร.พันธ์ ทองชุมนุม รองอธิการ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์วิทยาเขตภูเก็ต ได้แสดงทรรศนะ ต่อการที่ภูเก็ต เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดไทยแลนด์ เบียนนาเล่ ภูเก็ต 2025 ว่า
รู้สึกดีใจมาก จริง ๆ แล้ว ภูเก็ตเป็นเมืองท่องเที่ยว ระดับโลก แต่ว่าการท่องที่ผ่านมา เป็นการท่องเที่ยวในเชิงการท่องเที่ยวทางธรรมชาติ และมีสิ่งอำนวยความสะดวกต่างๆ
แต่ว่าการท่องเที่ยวที่ชูในเรื่องของศิลปะวัฒนธรรม ภูเก็ตอาจจะไม่เด่นชัดมากนัก จากการที่ภูเก็ตได้เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดเบียนนาเล่ในครั้งนี้ คิดว่าในอนาคตของภูเก็ต จะได้ยกระดับการท่องเที่ยวไปอีกระดับหนึ่ง ซึ่งเป็นการท่องเที่ยวที่จะมีในเรื่องของศิลปะวัฒนธรรม เข้ามามีส่วนเติมเต็ม ทราบว่าในรายละเอียดของงาน เบียนนาเล่ จะมีศิลปินระดับโลกจากทั่วโลก มาร่วมแสดงผลงานที่ภูเก็ต
