Meet “Nick” , a self-taught developer who is all about passion and drive! 👨💻
🎓 Nick’s journey into software development took a unique path. Graduating with a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration (Tourism and Hospitality Management), he started his career as a receptionist. Later, he transitioned to a role as a tour guide, where he enjoyed planning travel routes and itineraries.
📚 When Covid-19 hit, everything changed. Nick decided to take advantage of this unexpected break from work and embarked on a 4 year “gap year” to figure out his next steps. During this time, Nick became a regular at a local cafe, where he struck up a conversation with the owner, a freelance software developer. Inspired by the owner’s lifestyle of working from home and running a cafe, Nick started to explore the world of software development by himself.
🌟 Nick spent 2 year of self-studying coding basics like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. He then advanced to languages like C and Python. But it wasn’t easy, and he realized he needed more structured learning. He joined a 3-month boot camp where, with professional senior developer guidance, he quickly improved his skills and developed strong logical thinking, a crucial trait for developers.
🚀 Now, Nick is starting his software development journey with his first real job. He found Trienpont International at the GetLink Tech City Metaverse Job Fair 2023.
We're lucky to have Nick join our team as a junior full-stack developer. We were impressed by his self-teaching dedication, his willingness to learn, and his positive attitude. He's also skilled in Merm, Java, and Flutter. 😊
He shared a valuable lesson with the younger generation, saying, "There's no such thing as 'I don't know' or 'I can't do.' There's only 'I haven't known' and 'I can't do it yet.”

My go-to order is a plain Latte, not sweet.

In my free time, I enjoy reading books and watching YouTube videos.

I'm a big fan of alternative rock, like Oasis!
