The Thames Barrier
Northern bank is in Silvertown in the London Borough of Newham. Southern bank is in the New Charlton area of Charlton in the London Borough of Greenwich. 16.11.24
I have found myself enjoying exploring London from East to West and from North to South. Is there anyone who would like to hire me to do a survey? This is a skill that I have when I surveyed hundreds of temples in Bangkok hahaha.
The Thames Barrier officially opened in 1984. It is the second largest flood defence barrier in the world and was massive engineering project.
After an hour around that area and on the way back I walked past a very British pub by the river Thames. Why not have a pint before home?
On the way of The Thames paths
The river passes through many beautiful countryside and towns before reaching London. Over the centuries, the Thames has been an important transport route, a source of food and water; and at one point it was full of boats that carried sugar and cotton.
