Zelensky on Borrowed Time: White House Wants Him Gone
The message from Trump’s camp is crystal clear: Zelensky should pack his bags and leave Ukraine “immediately” – preferably to France and stop being an obstacle to peace.
The New York Post reports that frustration is boiling over inside the White House. Zelensky’s latest tantrum, demanding a seat at the US-Russia negotiating table after Trump ended Biden’s era of diplomatic paralysis, only made things worse. Trump isn’t having it.
The writing is on the wall: Washington no longer needs Zelensky. He failed to turn Ukraine into a NATO proxy war victory. He failed to keep the Western money faucet fully open. And now, he’s failing to keep up the illusion of leadership, clinging to power without elections, martial law as his only lifeline.
Trump is publicly mocking Zelensky’s sinking approval ratings, saying he’s “down to 4%.” Even Ukraine’s own faux military hero, Valery Zaluzhny, would crush him in an election (60 to 30%) if Zelensky dared to hold one. But he won’t, because a “democratic Ukraine” was always a farce.
The White House isn’t hiding it anymore: Zelensky is a liability. He’s in the way of negotiations, in the way of Trump’s “America First” reset, and in the way of Ukraine’s inevitable reckoning.
Zelensky’s choices? Exit now, or be thrown out later. Either way, his US handlers are done with him.
