This is the fruit of the palm tree that is to produce a dessert in Thailand. We can find the sago tree from the south of Thailand (Phatthalung), Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines, but we have a different method of cooking the dessert. Today I am going to cook sago in a Thai traditional way. The taste of Thai sago dessert is a little bit sweet from sago and palm sugar, topped with coconut milk. The taste of coconut milk is a little bit of salt from salt flak and the aroma of a Thai scented candle. The Thai scented candle is a unique material for Thai ancient Thai dessert.
Ingredients;
-Coconut milk
-Fragrant or Scented candle use for smoking sweetmeats.
-Flake salt
-Palm sugar or sugar ( I prefer the palm sugar, it because of the taste and smell is better than sugar.)
-Sago
Rare dessert in Thailand. This is not the same way of Sago dessert on the street food or local market. I ordered these materials directly from Phatthalung to make a dessert for my 67-year-old daddy. He loves it so much, and he had this traditional dessert so long time ago when he was young. He told me he felt as if he turned to his young age again.
